Flux measurements on R/V Kexue #1
During TOGA COARE

During the TOGA COARE Intesive Observation Period, the R/V Kexue #1 , from the Institute of Oceanology Chinese Academy of Sciences, was located at the south apex (156E, 4S) of the intesive flux array in t1he TOGA COARE domain. Fluctuational wind was measured with a sonic anemometer mounted on the top of the foremast. Fluctuational specific humidity was measured with Lyman-alpha which was also mounted on the top of the foremast. The sonic wind measurements were corrected for ship motions which were measured by using a six-accelerometer system. For more detail about the measurements and wind correction scheme, please check the paper: Ship-board Measurements and Estimations of Air-sea Fluxes in the Western Tropical Pacific Ocean during TOGA COARE.

The corrected wind and the specific humidity data are available now at this web site thanks for the Atmospheric Turbulence Lab led by Dr. Carl A. Friehe. Please read the Readme file before looking at the data files.
